Kazuya and Angel - Beautiful Broken Angel

Battered and broken, the angel had finally exorcised his devil, and yet she felt no sense of triumph or relief.  For in the eyes of the one she had watched since he was a mere child... the one she would love as one a mother to her babe... she saw anger, rage... hatred beyond all the demons she had fought.  And it broke her heart.  Why?  Why does she love someone who only knows how to hurt?  She asked that of her maker, and she has yet to hear the answer...

Kazuya had her in the palm of his hands.  Many years ago, she denied him of his dominion.  Today, she not only denied him of his power, she denied him of his pride.  His birthright... As he loomed over the mangled body of this woman, fire continued to seethe through his stone cold expression.  Now he has the chance to end this, to kill the one thing he hates above all else as he picked up her body in his wary arms...

He couldn't do it.

Curse it all, he could not bring himself to do it.  All he could do is hold her in his arms, and stare at her beautiful face.

And though she knew he would likely continue to do evil in the eyes of her creator, more than likely commit atrocities against the world now, and for the rest of his days... within the smoldering hatred, she saw a faint, if not fleeting, glimpse of the boy she knew so long ago.  A small light of hope.

And for that, she smiled...
