Nu Gundam Ver. Alpha

OK, this one took way too long to do. This is my theoretical take of the Nu Gundam of the 'Alpha-verse' made for . I've wanted to draw this guy ever since I started reading his fanfic, Mobile Suit Gundam Alpha, which you can read here: www.fanfiction.net/s/5767287/1…

Seeing as the Alpha-verse setting is on an intergalactic scale compared to the original MSG, and the technology itself is even more advanced than pretty much most, if not all of Gundam, complete with interstellar travel capability and whatnot, I applied that mindset to this design. A couple of things I used as a basis of this Nu Gundam, one being that the general appearance would be closer to that of the Hi Nu Gundam than the Nu Gundam, it would also take some cues from the Unicorn Gundam, AND just for fun I also looked to Zone of the Enders for a few ideas as well. Thus, when activated, those lines and gaps you see would create a purple hue the way Unicorn or Banshee would get when in Destroy Mode. I went the Unicorn route seeing as the Gundam's Alpha, Beta, and Gamma's already possess psycho frames unlike the original RX-78 series.

The armaments on this Nu Gundam would more or less be the same, such as vulcans on the head, beam rifle, shield (though this one would be a beam shield instead), fin funnels, etc. Some additions and amendments to the design would be the fact that the fin funnels are simplified to not fold into the giant rail guns like both Nu and Hi Nu do, yet still have greater utility aside from firing beam shots and creating a giant beam barrier. One being that, when connected to the Gundam to form its 'wings' that they also serve as an additional means of propulsion. The other is that they can also be used as sword bits.

Another addition to the design, one that I came up with separately from WZA's idea was a kind of 'dart mode'. I am anything but an engineer, but if you were to look at the feet, they are supposed to be able to fold into 'points' so that the end shape of the legs would be akin to those pointy legs found on orbital frames. Said points where the feet would be would include thrusters for the sake of acceleration. The three fin funnels attached to each binder on the back would then rearrange themselves into a single, giant wing, which would serve as dedicated thrusters. This 'dart mode' would be used to get the Nu Gundam from point A to point B in quick fashion. Once it reaches its destination, it would convert to its 'standard mode' for combat.
